Dr. Breanna Moore
Dr. Breanna Moore is a Ph.D. History graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where she taught a Spring 2025 course, “Beyond 40 Acres and a Mule: The History and Practice of Reparations in the African Diaspora.” Breanna has organized for reparations for descendants of enslaved Africans since the Summer of 2020 when she joined the Philadelphia chapter of N’COBRA PHL (National Coalition of Black for Reparations in America Philadelphia chapter) as the female youth co-chair. In Fall 2020, she was elected as the chapter’s female co-chair. With N’COBRA PHL, she successfully advocated for the establishment of the Philadelphia Reparations Task Force, which she formerly co-chaired. Breanna is a New Jersey Reparations Council Research Consultant at the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice. In this capacity, she supports the History of Slavery in New Jersey Committee, the Public Education and Narrative Committee, the Faith and Black Resistance Committee, and Segregation in New Jersey.
Breanna has held fellowships at the International Center for Transitional Justice and The United Nations OHCHR (Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights) Programme of people of African Descent where she presented at the first session of the Permanent Forum on People of African Descent. She also presented at the United Nations Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent and the Philadelphia Mayor’s Commission on Faith-Based and Interfaith Affairs. Breanna has provided reparations consultations for the United Nations, Georgia state lawmakers, and the Frederick, Maryland Office of Equity and Inclusion.
